| Golden Key | The Golden Keys when unbound resemble a highly stylized fish skeleton. They appear to be made of polished gold and are about three millimeters thick, roughly as thick as a human's house key. After they bind to a Keyholder, they continue to shine like gold; they even occasionally emit a bright golden light, attracting attention to the Keyholder. While bound, the Key can emit a golden beam similar to a laser pointer, indicating the direction of the Light Tower. During the initial binding, the Key projects a hologram of the Light Tower and broadcasts a welcome message. |

| Shallow water suit | A shallow water suit is adaptive clothing which, when triggered by pulling down the brim of the cap, becomes a dive suit suitable for waters down to 50 meters (160 feet). Below those depths, a deep sea suit would be more appropriate. The suit seals cuffs, collars and seams to keep the wearer dry. The suit is designed for use by creatures who cannot breathe underwater and who did not evolve for existing in water, i.e. humans. Shin is currently the only human left on the planet, so he's the only user, but you never know. |

| Deep sea suit | A deep sea suit is designed for use in a hostile environment that would kill the wearer in an instant, not unlike a space suit, and it protects the wearer from the pressure and cold of the crushing depths. Most marine creatures have little difficulty handling the environment of the benthic depths, but humans need the protections offered by the suit, which is why Shin needed it to find and rescue Pezci. |

| Hydrosphere | Hydrospheres are personal life support/transportation devices created and controlled by the Terminarch's shipboard computer to provide support for waterbreathers when they are aboard the normally dry submarine. |

| The Great Flood | The Great Flood occurred about 5000 years ago, causing humanity to become, for all intents and purposes, extinct. The Flood was created by the Light Tower to cover the world with the ocean. |
